Utility with a human voice
Ida is a contemporary grotesque built around a balance of rational construction and human warmth. Closed apertures, low stroke contrast and an elegant underlying skeleton give the family a clear, economical texture without making it impersonal. Its character recalls the directness of late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century grotesques, while its extensive family structure makes it suitable for contemporary editorial and identity systems.
Eighteen styles, one coherent system
The family contains six weights from Thin to Bold, matching italics, and a complementary Narrow range. The independently designed italics introduce a more fluid rhythm, while the Narrow styles accommodate dense information and compact layouts. Designed for both Latin and Cyrillic, Ida can move between continuous reading, structured editorial typography and expressive display use while retaining a coherent voice across scripts, widths and styles.
